Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work

AIMS OF QUALIFICATION

The Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work meets the Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981 in respect of First Aid at work. The purpose of the qualification is to provide the knowledge, understanding and skills required to deal with a range of emergencies requiring first aid in the workplace.

WHO IS IT FOR?

This qualification is aimed at people who have a specific responsibility at work, to provide first aid in range of emergency first aid situations. It is also an ideal introduction in basic first aid knowledge and skills that can provide a pathway to additional first aid qualifications.

TOTAL QUALIFICATION TIME

PROGRESSION OPPORTUNITIES

Learners may progress on to a range of other first aid qualifications such as the three-day First Aid at Work qualification as specialised First Aid Qualification e.g. Emergency Paediatric First Aid.

Level 2 Fire Safety / Fire Marshall

AIMS OF QUALIFICATION

This level 2 course is aimed at anyone who requires a course as a Fire Warden or a Fire Marshal. The course covers the latest fire safety regulations and the roles and duties of employees and their responsibilities on Fire Safety. The course is designed to meet and comply with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. It covers how fires are started, methods of controlling fire spread, evacuating the building, fire briefings and risk assessing.

WHO IS IT FOR?

Anyone responsible for fire safety in any workplace. This includes Fire Marshals, Fire Wardens, Managers, Team Leaders, Heads of Department or Supervisors.

Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering

AIMS OF QUALIFICATION

Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering provides the knowledge required by a food handler employed in a catering business preparing low and high-risk food. This qualification raises learners’ understanding of how to take personal responsibility for food safety, the correct procedures for maintaining a hygienic work environment and on how to both identify and control common risks to food safety.

WHO IS IT FOR?

This food hygiene level 2 course is a self-study module and maps to Industry Standards in food hygiene and food safety as published by People 1st, the Sector Skills Council for the Hospitality, Leisure, Travel and Tourism industries. This course is aimed at anyone working in catering or hospitality whether employed or self-employed, working in restaurants, hotels, fast food outlets, takeaways, cafes, bars, kitchens, catering in hospitals, schools and colleges.

Level 2 Traffic Marshall (Banksman)

AIMS OF QUALIFICATION

This qualification is aimed at staff that has been recently appointed or intends to be appointed as a fire marshal/warden in the workplace. The course provides employers with a programme which assists them in proving due diligence and demonstrates their legal commitment to staff training as required by the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.

BANKSMAN

A Traffic Marshal or Banksman is an operative trained to direct vehicle and plant movement on or around a construction or parking site. They also monitor and manage traffic entering and leaving site related to deliveries or pickups as well as create temporary or permanent routes and barriers. Some highly experienced and trained Traffic Marshals may also be involved in site logistics where they will work with other contractors to create a weekly schedule of expected vehicle and plant traffic movement in and out of site.

Level 1 Award in Health and Safety in a Construction Environment

AIMS OF QUALIFICATION

This qualification enables learners to understand the principles of risk assessment, safe manual handling, working at height and using equipment, as well as the general health risks in a construction environment.

WHO IS IT FOR?

Aimed at learners wishing to qualify for the CSCS Green Card to access construction sites in the UK as a nonskilled worker
