Fuse Box Upgrades
A large quantity of the jobs we cover are fuse box replacements. The fuse box has changed a lot over the years and although both serve the same purpose of distributing electricity the more modern consumer unit is much safer and with the new RCD
function and can disconnect in less than 300ms which may prevent electrocution and injury. If your fuse box is greater than 25 years old it may not have a RCD.
The cost of a new consumer unit varies on the size, condition of the installation and the type you opt for. The price range to replace with a new consumer box will be £300-£500. All the new units come with an SPD which protects the installation from surge protection such as a lightening strike. Once the installation is completed the customer will then be sent over a copy of the electrical schedule of results and building notification which notifies the council the work has been carried out.

Lucian arrived as promised on time, he was very professional, friendly and thorough. We were very happy with the service and result of the survey, for our peace of mind.

Most issues have involved my immersion heater. He is so helpful and very knowledgeable. He has had to fix a few issues caused by prior trades people and the quality of his work has been excellent and long lasting. He is very good at explaining the issue and what needs fixing and is open and up front on costs. I’ve never felt that his costs have been unreasonable or inflated like I’ve experienced before, which is why I trust him. He is super busy which is a good sign of a decent electrician, yet he will always find the time to help swiftly when emergencies happen. I’ve recommended him to multiple people due to the quality of his work and how responsive he is when you have an issue that needs attention urgently.
